Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, melt the butter and whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth.
- Stir in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined, and then add the eggs one at a time.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix again.
- Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Once cooled, prepare the frosting by combining fluff marshmallows with softened butter and vanilla, then whip until fluffy.
- Spread frosting over the cooled brownies and torch slightly for a toasted flavor (optional).
Notes
For a lighter version, swap butter with unsweetened applesauce. Add chocolate chips or nuts for an extra layer of flavor.
