Delicious chocolate-dipped peanut butter treats that are a family favorite.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 24 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Paraffin wax (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by clearing your counter and gathering all the ingredients.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine peanut butter, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the powdered sugar until a dough-like consistency forms.
  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the peanut butter mixture, roll it into a ball, and place it on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Chill the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Melt the chocolate chips carefully, stirring until smooth.
  6. Dip each chilled peanut butter ball into the melted chocolate, leaving a small area at the top exposed.
  7. Return dipped buckeyes to the baking sheet and refrigerate for another 30 minutes to set the chocolate.

Notes

To achieve a glossy finish, consider adding paraffin wax to the chocolate. Always work with dry hands to prevent sticking.
