A delightful recipe that combines tart cherries with rich dark chocolate, creating a sweet burst of flavor.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • Fresh cherries (Bing cherries recommended)
  • Dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
  • Coconut oil or vegetable shortening
  • Sea salt
  • Optional toppings (crushed nuts, sprinkles, white chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Cherries: Wash the cherries and leave the stems on; dry them thoroughly.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Combine the chocolate and a teaspoon of coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Dip the Cherries: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each cherry in the melted chocolate and allow excess to drip off. Place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Set the Chocolate: Sprinkle sea salt over each cherry while the chocolate is still wet. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until set.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Once hardened, serve on a platter with a sprig of mint for added color and freshness.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer and transfer to an airtight container.
