- Fresh cherries (Bing cherries recommended)
- Dark chocolate (70% cocoa)
- Coconut oil or vegetable shortening
- Sea salt
- Optional toppings (crushed nuts, sprinkles, white chocolate)
Instructions
- Prep the Cherries: Wash the cherries and leave the stems on; dry them thoroughly.
- Melt the Chocolate: Combine the chocolate and a teaspoon of coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip the Cherries: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each cherry in the melted chocolate and allow excess to drip off. Place on a lined baking sheet.
- Set the Chocolate: Sprinkle sea salt over each cherry while the chocolate is still wet. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until set.
- Serve and Enjoy: Once hardened, serve on a platter with a sprig of mint for added color and freshness.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a single layer and transfer to an airtight container.
