Ingredients
- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Packed Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips gently.
- Pour batter into the lined baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift out using parchment and cool on a wire rack before slicing.
- Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with 1:1 gluten-free baking flour. If you want a lighter version, replace some butter with unsweetened applesauce.
