Ingredients
- 1 cup sweet rice flour (Mochiko)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup water
- Soy sauce (for glazing)
- Sweet soy sauce (for drizzling)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine sweet rice flour and sugar. Gradually add water while stirring until it forms a smooth dough.
- Divide the dough into smaller portions and roll each into a ball the size of a marble.
- Thread three or four dumplings onto a bamboo skewer.
- Fill a steamer pot with water and bring it to a gentle boil. Place the skewers in the steamer and cover.
- Steam the dumplings for about 5-7 minutes, until they are firm and slightly translucent.
- Remove the skewers from the steamer, drizzle with sweet soy sauce if desired, and serve.
Notes
Use non-stick spray to prevent sticking in the steamer. Be careful not to overcrowd the steamer for even cooking.
