Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, chopped
- 1 lb crab meat
- 4 bread bowls (artisan or sourdough)
- 8 oz cream cheese (or sour cream)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp butter for sautéing
Instructions
- Chop the seafood, onion, bell pepper, and celery into fine pieces.
- Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and celery until softened (3-4 min). Add bell pepper and garlic; cook for another 2 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine seafood, sautéed vegetables, cream cheese, half of the parsley and dill, and season with salt, pepper, and seasoning.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Hollow out the bread bowls, leaving about a one-inch thickness.
- Spoon the seafood mixture into each bread bowl.
- Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and golden brown.
- Garnish with remaining parsley and dill, then serve warm.
Notes
Serve with a fresh side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored for up to three days and reheated in the oven.
