A comforting and flavorful stuffed bread bowl filled with succulent seafood, fresh herbs, and a creamy mixture that brings the family together.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, chopped
  • 1 lb crab meat
  • 4 bread bowls (artisan or sourdough)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (or sour cream)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Chop the seafood, onion, bell pepper, and celery into fine pieces.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onion and celery until softened (3-4 min). Add bell pepper and garlic; cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine seafood, sautéed vegetables, cream cheese, half of the parsley and dill, and season with salt, pepper, and seasoning.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Hollow out the bread bowls, leaving about a one-inch thickness.
  6. Spoon the seafood mixture into each bread bowl.
  7. Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until hot and golden brown.
  8. Garnish with remaining parsley and dill, then serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a fresh side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. Leftovers can be stored for up to three days and reheated in the oven.
