Instructions
- Prep the Strawberries: Rinse and hull strawberries, then slice thinly. Toss with sugar and set aside.
- Make the Filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
- Assemble the Sandwiches: Spread cream cheese mixture on one slice of bread, layer with strawberries, and top with another slice to form a sandwich.
- Prepare for Frying: Beat egg with milk, dip each sandwich in egg wash, coating both sides.
- Fry the Sandwiches: Heat oil in a skillet and fry sandwiches until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes each. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy warm, optionally with whipped cream or ice cream.
