Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer over the parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat until boiling, then boil for 3-4 minutes until thick and bubbly.
- Pour the caramel evenly over the Saltines.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee layer and let sit to melt, then spread the chocolate evenly.
- Add any desired toppings before the chocolate sets.
- Cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for easier cutting.
- Break apart into pieces and serve or store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
