Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp salt
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Sprinkles or icing for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Optional: Chill the dough for 30 minutes.
- Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart.
- Decorate with sprinkles if desired.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft.
- Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for best results. Don’t overmix the cookie dough to keep them soft.
