Delightful homemade peppermint patties that are perfect for any occasion, combining creamy mint filling with rich dark chocolate.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 24 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint extract (or crème de menthe)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
  • Dark chocolate (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine confectioners’ sugar, softened butter, milk, and peppermint extract. Mix until smooth.
  2. Dust hands with powdered sugar and roll the mixture into small balls, flattening them into patty shapes.
  3. Chill the patties in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt dark chocolate over a double boiler until smooth and glossy.
  5. Dip each patty into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off before placing them back on the baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate until the chocolate has set, about 15-20 minutes, then enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add finely chopped peppermint candies to the filling for added texture. Experiment with different types of chocolate for coating.
