Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- Additional granulated sugar and cinnamon for coating
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Slowly add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until a dough forms.
- Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 2-3 minutes.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2-inch thickness and cut out donuts and holes.
- Heat oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry donuts in batches for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and coat in sugar and cinnamon while warm.
