Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then stir in the sugars until combined.
  3. Remove from heat and cool slightly, then mix in the eggs and vanilla.
  4. Sift in the cocoa powder and flour, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the red food coloring until the batter is even.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  7. Pour half of the brownie batter into the pan, add dollops of cream cheese mixture, then top with remaining brownie batter and swirl gently.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until edges are set. Cool before cutting into squares.

Notes
