Ingredients
- 2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips or bars
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup crushed peppermint candies
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare Your Baking Dish: Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until smooth.
- Add Flavorings: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract, salt, and half of the crushed peppermint candies.
- Pour and Spread: Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Top with Peppermint: Sprinkle the remaining crushed peppermint on top and gently press down.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 240 minutes until set.
- Cut and Serve: Lift the fudge out of the dish and cut into squares.
- Store Properly: Keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
Notes
Be patient while melting chocolate to avoid scorching. Allow the fudge to cool fully before cutting.
