A festive pie bursting with sweet and spiced fruits, perfect for holiday gatherings.

  • Total Time: 85 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
  • 3 cups apples, chopped
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 1 cup pears, chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon citrus zest (orange or lemon)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, diced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add ice water gradually until the dough comes together, roll it out and fit it into the pie pan.
  2. Make the filling: Toss apples, cranberries, and pears with sugar, spices, and citrus zest. Let sit for 15 minutes to release juices.
  3. Assemble the pie: Pour the fruit filling into the prepared crust. Dot with butter, and optionally add a streusel topping.
  4. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 45-55 minutes until crust is golden and filling is bubbling. Shield edges with foil if browning too quickly.
  5. Cool: Allow to cool for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can be easily adapted with different fruits based on preference.
