Tender chicken skewers marinated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for summer gatherings.

  • Total Time: 42 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, cut into chunks
  • 1 zucchini, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Chicken: Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and add to the marinade. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate for up to 4 hours for more flavor.
  3. Thread the Skewers: Alternately thread marinated chicken and your choice of vegetables onto skewers without overcrowding.
  4. Preheat the Grill: Heat the grill to medium-high, allowing excess marinade to drip off the skewers.
  5. Grill the Skewers: Cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is cooked through and has grill marks.
  6. Baste with Sauce: In the last few minutes of cooking, brush reserved marinade on the skewers for added flavor.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the grill, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.
