Ingredients
- 4 cups Bread Flour
- 1 packet Active Dry Yeast
- 1 ½ cups Warm Water
- 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ¼ cup Baking Soda
- ¼ cup Melted Butter
- Coarse Salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Mix warm water, yeast, and brown sugar in a bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In another bowl, whisk together the bread flour and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough, divide into small pieces, and shape into bites.
- Boil a large pot of water, add baking soda, and boil pretzel bites for 30 seconds, flipping halfway.
- Place boiled bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Serve warm with your favorite dips like cheese or mustard. These bites can also be made gluten-free or vegan with simple substitutions.
