Deliciously rich cookies with a perfect balance of sweet caramel and a hint of sea salt.

  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  3. Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract, beating until fully combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to your wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the caramel sauce.
  6. Scoop dough onto baking sheets, leaving space between dough balls. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers are slightly underbaked.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over cookies as soon as they come out of the oven. Cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

For added texture, consider incorporating chocolate chips or nuts into the dough.
