Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup milk
- ¼ cup brown sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with milk to the butter-sugar mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can use buttermilk instead of regular milk or add nuts for extra texture.
