  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and baking soda.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with milk to the butter-sugar mixture until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the batter.
  9. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can use buttermilk instead of regular milk or add nuts for extra texture.
