- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, beat the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
- Remove from oven, cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a nut-free version, substitute walnuts with sunflower seeds or oats. You can also chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for enhanced flavor.
