Delicious and easy apple fritters that bring comfort and nostalgia, perfect for autumn gatherings.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk (or almond/coconut milk)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3-4 Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and chopped
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting or glaze

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples: Peel and slice apples into small pieces, toss them with 1 tablespoon of sugar and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  2. Make the batter: In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, and sugar. Combine both mixtures without overmixing.
  3. Incorporate the apples: Fold the apple pieces into the batter.
  4. Heat the oil: In a skillet, heat 2 inches of oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the fritters: Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Drain and glaze: Transfer fritters to a paper towel to absorb excess oil and glaze if desired.
  7. Serve: Enjoy warm, dusted with powdered sugar or with desserts like ice cream.

Notes

Use a thermometer to maintain the oil temperature for perfectly cooked fritters. Customize with your favorite spices!
