- 2 cups of butterscotch chips
- 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon of instant coffee or espresso powder
- A pinch of salt
- Optional: Chopped nuts (like pecans or walnuts) for added texture
Instructions
- Prepare your pan: Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang.
- Melt the fudge base: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the butterscotch chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
- Infuse the coffee flavor: Remove the saucepan from the heat, and add the instant coffee and salt. Stir until fully incorporated.
- Pour into the prepared pan: Spread the fudge evenly, smoothing the top with a spatula. If adding nuts, sprinkle them on top and gently press them into the fudge.
- Chill: Place the fudge in the refrigerator for at least two hours to firm up.
- Cut and serve: Once set, lift it out of the pan and cut into bite-sized squares.
Notes
Allow the fudge to cool slightly before serving. It’s best served chilled but can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
