A delightful confection that combines creamy butterscotch, rich espresso, and the warmth of home cooking, perfect for family gatherings.

  • Total Time: 130 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of instant coffee or espresso powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: Chopped nuts (like pecans or walnuts) for added texture

Instructions

  1. Prepare your pan: Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang.
  2. Melt the fudge base: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the butterscotch chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter. Stir continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. Infuse the coffee flavor: Remove the saucepan from the heat, and add the instant coffee and salt. Stir until fully incorporated.
  4. Pour into the prepared pan: Spread the fudge evenly, smoothing the top with a spatula. If adding nuts, sprinkle them on top and gently press them into the fudge.
  5. Chill: Place the fudge in the refrigerator for at least two hours to firm up.
  6. Cut and serve: Once set, lift it out of the pan and cut into bite-sized squares.

Notes

Allow the fudge to cool slightly before serving. It’s best served chilled but can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
