Ingredients
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or nuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix pumpkin puree, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Add cocoa powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, stirring until the batter is mixed well.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Cut into squares to serve.
Notes
For an added twist, drizzle melted chocolate or pumpkin spice frosting over the top.
