Ingredients
- 4 medium pears (preferably Bosc or Bartlett)
- 1 cup rolled oats
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- ¼ cup melted butter (or coconut oil)
- ¼ cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: honey or vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash and halve the pears, removing the core, and arrange cut-side up in a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine rolled oats, chopped walnuts, melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumble mixture generously over the halved pears.
- Pour a little water into the baking dish and cover loosely with foil. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until pears are tender and topping is golden brown.
- Serve warm, optionally drizzled with honey or topped with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Ensure pears are firm for best results. Let the dish cool slightly before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
