A delightful quick bread with a rich cinnamon flavor and a crunchy topping, perfect for family gatherings and brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until mixed well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs together. Then, add the buttermilk and melted butter, mixing until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
  5. Prepare your cinnamon-sugar swirl by mixing 1 tablespoon of cinnamon with 3 tablespoons of brown sugar in a small bowl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, making sure it covers the bottom evenly. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top of the batter.
  7. Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Gently swirl with a knife for a beautiful marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool the bread in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Allow the bread to cool fully before slicing for better texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to four days.
