Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- ½ cup Brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- ½ teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- ½ cup Unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon until mixed well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs together. Then, add the buttermilk and melted butter, mixing until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are perfectly fine!
- Prepare your cinnamon-sugar swirl by mixing 1 tablespoon of cinnamon with 3 tablespoons of brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan, making sure it covers the bottom evenly. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top of the batter.
- Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Gently swirl with a knife for a beautiful marbled effect.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the bread in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Allow the bread to cool fully before slicing for better texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to four days.
