Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground cardamom
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup maple syrup
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and cloves.
- In another bowl, beat together the butter and maple syrup until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the milk until well combined.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about ⅔ full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before frosting or enjoy plain.
Notes
Allow cupcakes to cool before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
