Ingredients
- 8 slices of thick-cut bacon
- 2 large heirloom tomatoes, sliced
- 1 cup iceberg or romaine lettuce, shredded
- 1 French baguette or crostini
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Olive oil or balsamic glaze for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Lay bacon strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy. Drain on paper towels and crumble.
- Slice the baguette into rounds, brush one side with melted butter, and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes until golden.
- Slice the tomatoes and remove some seeds if using larger tomatoes.
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the toasted side of the bread. Layer on tomato slices, crumbled bacon, and finish with a piece of lettuce.
- Drizzle with olive oil or balsamic glaze and serve immediately, or chill in the fridge to meld flavors.
